Tale and Task

Selected Works from Harry Schneider

These pieces are part of a body of work that investigates ideas of awareness and appreciation through site. This site in particular is located in the Columbia River Gorge. The visual work doesn’t deal with direct representation of the site, but rather the abstraction of ideas and notions associated with it. Site becomes a tool for my creative process much like a paintbrush or a computer. The work then becomes a way of critiquing and exploring the way one uses site in a contemporary context. “What is our perception, our attitudes, and our feelings to place?” and “How do we explore those ideas in a way that is thoughtful and has intention?” are the questions that drive this work.

Harry Schneider is an MFA Print Media student at PNCA. More information and work can be viewed at mightyfineprintshop.com.
